|In Us As In Heaven||Oct 15, ’09 9:16 AM
‘Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!’
This Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, ‘The Rest of the Story,’ and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord’s help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called ‘One nation under God.’
“OUR” Father You Word is what make us to know You and who You are. Your Word is light in “OUR” World. We trust in Your Word.
Your Word tells us who we are and we are not afraid but stand in awe of You. We don’t have to weigh what You say. “OUR” words we say sometimes without really thinking. Pouring them right out, chaff and grain together. “Did I say that?” “I didn’t mean it the way it sounded.” Why can’t I keep my mouth shut? I don’t want to offend, but I do, with words.
But, You know what I’m thinking before I say a thing. I wish others would consider the source and take “OUR” word with a grain of salt and not weigh everything we say. You accept “OUR” words chaff and grain together and with a faithful hand take and sift them. Someone said that with a breath of kindness You blow the chaff away.
I’m sorry that is not the case with “OUR” friends. AAAGH! I remember the obnoxious comments I’ve made, talking without thinking. I hate it when I do that.
Lord, Put a watch over my lips. I admit I must embarrass You, thank you for forgiving me. Why do I say these things?
I would love to do Your will and please You so others could say Your name is Hallowed. To be worshipped and praised because of what we say. Thank You for forgiving us before the words even come out.
Fill us with Your Holy spirit. Help us to Love one another. How can we overcome this vile habit that keeps coming up again and again? Deliver us we pray.
